Not rushing in headlessly was the smart thing to do.

 

Yeah, he didn't have to do it but he really wanted to take Hopkins out it seems.

 

He was on autopilot & taking clean shots not moving in an evasive manner..

Hopkins shouldn't have showboated in that last round, Kov made him pay for it.

 

Yeah, totally agree. Kovalev really landed flush and B-HOP showboats. I didn't even know why did he showboated while hurt.

 

Seems like Sergey could have done that at any time and just went easy until Bhop pissed him off.

 

Well you can probably attribute it to pride. To be able to take that kind of punishment from an animal like kovalev, and still finish the fight was the only kind solace he could find after being completely dominated like that . He could have ran and grabbed to survive but chose not too.

I normally would not root for it to end with a legend laid out, but once Hopkins stuck his tongue out trying to showboat I was rooting for once of Kovalev shots would lay Hopkins out cold.

That round lasts just a few more seconds and Hopkins would have been stopped. Right after the bell rung, you could see Hopkins walking on unsteady legs.

 

Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev hurt bhop badly in that round and almost finished him.
but bhop has an iron brain and iron skull. hes a tough SOB.

 

too bad fights aren't 15 rounds anymore. i wanted the alien out cold.
