With the Haye v Harrison fight doing so many PPVs it would be nice if a percentage of the casual boxing fans watched / knew about some 'free' boxing they can watch this weekend. The inaugural GB Amateur Boxing Championships are on the Beeb this weekend - something Haye and Harrison would have featured on had it been around in their time. This is from BBC press office website: "The finals of the Championship, taking place at Liverpool's Echo Arena, will be broadcast live on BBC Red Button on Saturday 13 November (time tbc) with a highlights package on BBC Two on Sunday 14 November, 2.30pm-4pm. Commentary will come from Jim Neilly and Richie Woodhall with Steve Bunce providing punditry." Full article on line up here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/9132883.stm
Unlikely to watch at time but will on Iplayer. MORE IMPORTANTLY can you till Billy Hills' lazy compilers to price up Prizefighter!
The more people who watch the sport, more chance it will come back to terrestrial TV and more coverage it will receive. That's got to be good for boxing hasn't it?
The more fans there are the more people take up the sport and then the quality of boxers we see at all levels rises.
