You all know. Britian has THE worst quick stoppages i've ever witnessed in boxing. An away fighter gets stunned by a shot or the home fighter is wailing away without hitting anything but gloves and arms and some fatass ref stumbles in and calls a halt. i'm hoping sauerland has taken the precaution to get a non british ref and preferrably a high profile american based guy like a smoger or bayless to do this fight, so this BS doesn't mare this great fight. And, may the best combatant win.
Not going to pretend we dont have a problem with this issue, the britsh board of control dont seem all that willing to use more officials and create a bit of competition between the officials. I see that as the only way these poor officials are going to be either rooted out or forced to improve.
Well, good point but i don't see the BBBc having all the say in a fight of this magnitude of the officials involved. no way Kalle, with his juice, would let kessler go in there with a british ref, and even 1 of the judges hailing from england. No fookin wayyyy, laddy.
i'd actually like to see Kessler work on the new things that montoya as been teaching because he's fast enough to try it on Froch. Froch has great timing and instincts but kess' speed advantage allows him to think more in there and for 1 would love to see him do it. This fight is for kessler to win or lose.
British stoppages normally happen in fights where one guy is over matched so I do not think you will see it tonight.
To be honest home advantage is crucial anywhere in the world with regards to judging and officiating and is not something that is exclusive to Britain.
That's what i think. I'm not buying this BS about Froch improving. He's def more seasoned because he's fought at a higher level recently but Kessler's also very seasoned, just got there before the cobra. If kessler's been implementing in sparring what montoya's been teaching then Carl's in a world of **** and will be beaten up in a fight he's favored to win. The IF is can kessler keep focused and not get dragged into a brawl like in the 1st fight.
I disagree, i think Froch has improved, he learnt a lot in the Ward fight and without covering what i said in IB's prediction thread he has stopped loading up on single punches. As you have just touched upon the combinations Froch now throws may actually be detrimental if he gets timed with with the punched that Montoya has added to Kesslers arsenal. I still favour Froch to be too fresh for a shopworn Kessler but hey they don't call it a 50/50 fight for nothing and i can see a number of outcomes for this fight.:good
