Here's a list of a few matchups that I found intriguing to think about. They include fighters from a variety of styles, sizes, eras, and levels. I hope these haven't been done before.

All fights are at each participant's prime and best weight at heavy.

1 Dempsey vs. Roy Jones Jr.
    2 Liston vs. Usyk
    3 Gibbons vs. Mike Spinks
4 Jack Johnson vs. John Ruiz
5 Harry Greb vs. David Tua
    6 Patterson vs. Haye
    7 Conn vs. Valuev
    8 Jack Sharkey vs. Parker
    9 Langford vs. Schmeling
    10 Shavers vs. Baer

    What are your thoughts?

I'm assuming it's Tommy Gibbons, and Max Baer.

Is it Jack Sharkey or Tom Sharkey?

Agree with the Dempsey, Liston, Johnson, Conn, and Baer picks (not always in the same manner).

Can't decide on matchups no. 3 and 8 yet.

Disagree with the Tua and Haye picks.

I have Schmeling over Langford (razor-thin though and I can see both outcomes).

    Both correct assumptions.
I meant Jack Sharkey (will edit my post to reflect this).

I think Greb is wayy to small to beat Tua.
Image putting Monzon in with Mercer.

Patterson could KO Haye but I think Hayes whiskers are more proven. He'd have stopped Johansson imo.

I like the 1st name in every fight but #8. Curtis Parker kicks Sharkeys ass.

    Well, we will never know.
But the Grebster had a chin of such mythical proportions that I think it's unlikely (though not impossible) even Tua's power could crack it with one punch. I can't see David landing clean with enough frequency to get an accumulation-knockout and Greb is going to pepper his face with 3 million punches so he gets a decision IMO.

Patterson vs. Haye is like a high-noon Western shootout with the former being a slightly faster and more accurate gunslinger. It's a bit of a toss-up though and I don't pick him with any confidence due to the chin issues you mention.

What made you pick Shavers over Baer?
