Dream

JMM, after knocking Katsidis out, moves to 140, is comfortable at the weight, and proceeds to spank the 3 pretenders currently residing at the top of the division. Becomes first Mexican 4 weight champ. Then rematches Pacquiao and gives him a boxing lesson and knocks him out. Then ****s everyone off and retires to Mexico to drink Tequila and have a fiesta.:yep

Right back to reality....

Hopes

The big fights happen. Klitschko, Haye, Floyd, Pacquiao and even to a certain extent JML, Gamboa and Caballero need to pull their fingers out.

The middleweight division regains some of it's former glory and heats up again. The last few years have been dire and an embarassment for what is one of the greatest divisions in boxing historically. With fresh faces at the top in Martinez and possibly Williams, and plenty of talented fresh blood coming through this could be a reality. More importantly the guys coming through seem to be willing to fight the best. Pirog fought Jacobs in the US, Golovkin cut his ties with Universum, went to Mexico for the interim belt and is meant to face N'jikam next and Martinez will fight anyone.

The little guys get some well deserved attetion. I mean the really little guys in the divisions south of Super Flyweight. Quite frankly it's criminal that these guys don't get the exposure and rewards that the big guys get. The lower weight divisions have some of the most talented and exciting fighters in the sport. Guys like Calderon, Segura, Gonzalez, Wonjongkam, Joyi are genuine elite fighters and a hell of a lot better than some of the fighters we watch on a regular basis.

Expectations

More of the same.

The middleweight division heating up is quite realistic imo.
