Im sure i am one of few that thinks that Arreola can pull this off, plus it will be an exciting fight. Arreola will def. come to fight and he isnt what i would call a small heavyweight. Also with his new dedication to the sport and considering he has some pop and even though we havent seen it for awhile, Wlad is def. suspectible to getting knocked down by a puncher. Whoever wins i think this will turn out to be an exciting fight
Arreola is now seen as old hat. He just don't have it at the world level. He has been beaten both times he's taken on a top fighter. And Adamek was much smaller than him, and with next to no power, still beat him. Chisora will be Wlad's next fight, after he takes Fury down a notch or two. Or possibly a Haye rematch. Arreola would not generate any buzz for Wlad.
I agree somewhat. Given the way the heavyweight so call prospects are fighting in these title fights is an embarassment. you have a shot at a world title and they dont want to pull the trigger, cause they dont want to get hit. Well thats your job thats whjat we pay to see and thats the risk. I just think Arreola knows when he gets that chance he is going to come to fight no question about it. Just like adamek win or lose you know you will get a good effort put forth and fear will not be a factor. you know who the heavies that are padding a record and looking for that big payday and they want to go the distance in the heavyweight title fight.that carries weight in this world, whether they got smoked or not. Just my opinion is we only have a handful of heavies that will go in there and fight, and have some what of a shot at a win
arreola while i appreciate his new work ethic....either knocks out guys that suck ...and guys halfway decent he goes the distance with or loses... he has a very small shot vs wlad...but its worth seeing......here is his quote after the friday A fight "I looked almost as bad as Haye," Arreola said of the Brit who did almost nothing in losing a near shutout to Klitschko and blaming a toe injury. Then Arreola jokingly added, "You should see my toes. They're all f----- up. I don't want rounds. I get rounds in sparring. I should have gotten rid of him."
Arreola got thrased by Vitali. The only other good HW he fought was Adamek and lost. He didnt earn his bout with Wlad yet. He only beat bums. I would see a Haye vs Arreola though
Arreola doesn't deserve a shot at Wlad yet. He was owned by Vitali and beaten by Adamek who wasn't even yet comfortable at HW. He needs to take down another good fighter to prove his worth, IMO. As of right now, he wouldn't last more than 6 rounds.
In reality Chris is no threat to Wlad at all. Older slower brother made him cry when Chris still thought he was unbeatable. Wlad would wear him down round by round, like he always does then KO him brutally. Remember, this brother does sit down on his punches and Chris only knows one way to fight. Having said that he may as well take the fight. The next generation of serious contenders are at least two years away. Fighting in the US and also possibly in the UK soon would certainly help him reestablish his brand in these countries.
I thought that if it was Wlad in with Areola instead of Vitali when they fought, we may of had a new champion...He took a beating and still tried to put some heat on late in that fight, a quality Wlad has not done well with in the past... Styles make fights, idk why some on here seem to think he needs to beat Ademek first...It's a marketable fight, it should be made...I would put my money on Wlad but, I wouldn't bet too high either...
Arreola to Wladimir=Galento to Louis. I'm not very interested unless he can beat a top ten guy like Chambers, Dimitrenko, etc. I did not catch those quotes before.
This is more important when fighters have skill levels and physical attributes that are close to comparable. The gap on class here is too great.
I concur. Arreola has fought nothing but bums since his loss to Adamek. He needs to fight a contender to earn a title shot now. He got away with getting a title shot before without facing anything but journeymen and retired former contenders, this time he needs to earn his shot.
