Joe Calzaghe is a legend. It wasn't a clinical performance last night, but he showed experience, guts, drive and determination. I had him winning by two rounds but most rounds were very close and could have gone either way, so I couldn't have argued if Hopkins had won. What impressed me most about Calzaghe is that he is Hopkins' ideal opponent and Hopkins is far from Calzaghe's ideal opponent. Hopkins likes fighter who throw a lot of punches and come forward so he can counter punch and hit them while they're open. Calzaghe likes fighters who come towards him, and fighters who he can suck in but Hopkins has too much experience to be sucked in and doesn't throw too many punches per round. So Joe deserves all the credit he is getting, as Hopkins is his nightmare opponent who has the perfect style to beat Joe and is probably the best fighter around at what he does. I don't think there are many bigger tests in boxing for Calzaghe, if any. I knew before the fight that Hopkins was that kind of fighter, but what I didn't know was how clever and calm he is in the ring, he never got sucked in or never fell for Calzaghe's traps. Which before the fight I never knew, I thought Calzaghe would have too much energy for Hopkins but it seemed the more punches Calzaghe threw it was easier for Hopkins which was a real worry for me especialy after the first round or two. So Joe deserves all the credit for not getting desperate and throwing more and more punches at Hopkins, he used his brain and thought about how he had to change his tactics to beat Hopkins. I think Calzaghe is the greatest British boxer of all time, he has fast hands, fast feet, a good chin, determination, guts and he is a brilliant entertainer. In the tenth round when he hit Hopkins with the low-blow then pretended to do him up the bum, it just made me **** myself with laughter. Every fight that he is in he always gets involved into something where you can't help but laugh; like when he thought Sakio Bika, Calzaghe wound Bika up the whole round until after the bell Bika didn't stop punching and had Joe against the ropes. Bika swinging like a mad man, but Joe dodged every punch until Bika stumbled and fell flat on his face. Calzaghe is a true legend.
