Nazim is not even Bernard's chief second anyomore and since having had a stroke and he has no right to talk for Bernard cause he's an employee, neither does anyone if they don't reveal their sources. Bernard says he was impressed by Joe's performance but respects Hatton more for the obvious reasons and that Roy is no longer the man to beat ( or Glen Johnson the man to fight)...

In all honesty, that's a better fight for B-Hop.

Fighting Calzaghe proves nothing - If he somehow wins, it will be in extremely rough, embaressing fashion. If he loses, he got dominated by a much younger (albeit old) man who is at least clinging to his prime.

Hopkins-Jones II would be a much more interesting fight, as well. Throw in the "grudge match" factor and it would be the PPV of the year in 2008, almost guaranteed.

 

That's why Warren wants Pavlik instead cause they know Joey C would win against Bernard for sure, very nice from Frank. Bernard and Nazeem are forever endebted to the generous man.

 

Bernard should take a fight he can win for his finale.

This rules out Calzaghe.

Anyone who's watched both mens' last fights could see that immediatelly.

 

Hopkins seems to have offered Calzaghe 60/40 with no minimum. It is clear that he doesn't really want the fight.


The latest word is 16 mil......I guess Hopkins really does wnat the fight.

 

Hopkins and Calz have to fight. They've both drawn lines in the sand and they've both crossed those lines. If it does not happen now, one or both of them will have a big taint on their legacies. Hopkins legacy, if he's seen as ducking the fight, will be worse than if he loses to Calz. If Hops wins, he will unquestionably be an ATG several places higher than he allready is. Calz, if he loses, is tainted big time, if he does not fight Hopkins he could save face by taking on, and beating some of the other beltholders. But make no mistake about it, these guys need to fight.

 

There will be snowball fights in hell before Hopkins fights Calzaghe.Watch for Borenard to opt for the Jones fight.That is if Jones doesn't back off from that one too.Both Jones and Hopkins want the big pay for safe fights.
