Hopkins accepted a catch weight against DLH, Why doesn't GG do the same? ?

Delahoya was considerably smaller than Bhop. He didn't come into the ring heavier than Bernard, like Canelo does.

Hopkins accepted a catchweight because DLH wasn't a MW. If Hopkins cared about money he wouldn't have based his career in Philly.

You are working under the assumption that Canelo would accept the fight if GGG moved on the weight, where as I and a lot of other people think that Canelo will never fight GGG regardless of weight.

GGG could come out and say 155, and I'm pretty sure Oscar and Canelo would want to 'marinate' still.

    I agree with this...

    So GGG agree to 155.
Then he has to accept the 90/10 split that Oscar has said.

This is a unification fight. Same division. How anyone can think this Catch-weight nonsense is acceptable is crazy to me. Canelo has fought his last several fights at MW. He is as big as any MW on fight night.

Do Canelo fans realize that you are setting yourself up for the "he was weight drained" excuse if he were to beat GGG??

brandon rios is 5-8...canelo is 5-9.....when rios fought bradley in a welterweight clash he came in the ring at 175 lbs....

does this mean brandon rios and ggg are the same size? and should fight at 160?

Because Hopkins dared to be great and ggg hasn't. Ggg isn't fit to carry Hopkins spitbucket.

When you can't make the weight in your previous weightclass, that means you should fight in the one above that yeah, especially when you win a belt there.

And weight draining DLH affected Pacquiao how? Is that's what GGG is scared of?

Along with moving up facing Tarver pascal Dawson and kovalev jackass. Yeah he dared to be great Hopkins has much more ***** than ggg can ever dream of. He also fought Pavlik who he was the underdog against as well as tito was the favorite over him along with calzaghe and wright.

Canelo hasn't fought a single fight at the MW limit or even fought a single MW. So he is not a MW technically. Cotto should never of had that belt. But, hate the WBC for allowing a crippled Sergio to defend it below the MW limit and Cotto to run away from GGG and defend it 2x below the MW limit.

Hopkins and DLH were able to make the fight because that's what great fighters do...find a way to make great fights. DLH was the star and a guaranteed big payday and increased profile for Hopkins. Also, it was a chance to unify (or move closer to it), since DLH was defending the MW title he got from Sturm (controversially). Hopkins was a great MW that DLH wanted to test his skills against, and DLH would have unified (or moved closer to doing so) by beating Hopkins.

The motivations of Canelo and GGG to come together and make this fight shouldn't really be any different. But, it's 2 divas who would rather cat fight than fist fight (each other that is). Make no mistake Mr. "Big Show", "Not one ounce" (his coach actually) and "Give me my belt" is just as big of a diva as Canelo (with his own damn weight class).

Those names you mentioned Tarver, Kovalev, Pascal, Calzaghe, Wright. Triple G doesn't have a single name who's anywhere near close any of those guys.

Yet I regularly see people on this forum pick GGG over the likes of Hopkins and Calzaghe, infact the poll I made this week of Kessler vs GGG was massively in favour of Golovkin.
