I would be very shocked if Hopkins KOed Pavlik too, but I would not be shocked if he were to score a knock down somewhere in the early rounds. Kelly has been down 3 times, always in the early rounds. I am 100% positive BHop is well aware of KP's history. I do not expect Hopkins to go to war with Pav, but if he were to say "**** it" and pull out all the stops from the opening bell ..... anything could happen.

Note the statement I put in bold. I actually like that statement. Notice Hopkins did not spout the usual drag: "He's slow" "He's predictable" "He attacks in straight lines" blah blah blah. One of the things that many of KP's opponents have in common is that they underestimated him. BHop seems to be looking at things from a slightly different angle.

I have to agree. Some people think that Hopkins is showing respect for Pavlik because Bernard is worried about how he'll be percieved by the fans in the leadup, but Hopkins has never cared about the fans before - and especially, during, a fight. He's in his own little world, always. It seems pretty clear to me that Hopkins is calling it how he sees it. Realistically, he knows that Pavlik is alot harder than he looks. Hopkins has no intention of playing the fool, he knows this kid can hurt him.

All of the members who have predicted a Kelly Pavlik knockout are going to look very silly indeed. Hopkins won't even be hurt in this fight, let alone on his back.

I've posted a quip from Bhop before that I think is the key. Bhop just doesn't believe Kelly can throw as hard as he does for 12 rounds, 'at pace', as it were. Boo has already posted McCart's take on that before. 'It isn't that any one punch is hard, but that EVERY punch has SOMETHING on it.' I see Bhop getting worn out much faster than he thinks.

Also, he may be looking at his swan song here. That is why he is being nice/mellow. Either way, he can go out a 'winner'. He waited for some young buck to send him out or he went out on the back of some young buck, but he took the best he could get. Well done Bhop.:thumbsup

I wouldn't be shocked if Hopkins KO'ed Pavlik. Hopkins hits harder than Jermain Taylor. Pavlik has the worst chin of any fighter Hopkins has fought in the last couple of years.

How many 'free shots' did he give Taylor by being stupid and yet got up? Until he doesn't get up, not much of a question of his chin.

His chin is still not as good as Calzaghe's, Tarver's, or Wright's.

Taylor was noticeably more powerful than hopkins when they fought.

KO Pavlik?, I'll be shocked too but he has a good chance to drop him if he keeps landing his shots over and over. Pavlik's defense isn't that great so I won't be surprised if Hopkins lands at will at some point but being able to keep those punches up and not running out of gas is what I'm worried about.

Who has he knocked out? He couldn't knock out Ouma or Spinks. Say what you want about Bernard but he knocked every blown up fighter he ever fought. Also check out his KO's of people like Joe Lipsey, that was devestating. Taylor's never had a knockout like that. Taylor does have pop but he's wild and doesn't set up his shot's.
