Calzaghe has the speed, power, stamina, etc., Hopkins has the referee and judges.

Yeah. They should fight in WALES, where they'll be much more fair and unbiased:rofl

calzaghe doesn't lead with his face like hatton, he is nowhere near as reckless as hatton. hopkins also doesn't have mayweathers handspeed to catch calzaghe like floyd did to hatton.

    two important points...

calzaghe has a vastly superior chin to hatton.

calzaghe is a master at slipping shots, watch him duck and weave away from kesslers right hand during their fight. hopkins right is very accurate but he hasn't faced anyone with calzaghes mobility and ability to slip those shots for some time.

when joe sits on his punches, he can dig. check out the body work in the 8th v kessler when he has him gasping for air and stumbling away.

he just tends not to put much behind his punches because of his china hands and instead focuses on volume.

he's no monster puncher but he can still crack when needed.

in his early days he really could bang.

complete beside the point, kessler couldn't knock him over when he was off balance and leaning in and he hits a hell of a lot harder than hopkins with good accuracy.

Ever since Hopkins became less active, he has relied more and more on the counter right hand. He might not throw it a ton but when he does throw it, it usually finds the mark. He did it regularly against JT, Tarver, and Winky.

Hopkins will land plenty of them against Calzaghe. I just hope one of them catches Calzaghe flush coming in. And that might get Calzaghe's respect right off the bat and slow him down.

If you guys think counter punching has no effect on high work rate guys, look no further than the Quintana/Williams fight. I know it's not the same scenario but it's similiar. Quintana nullified Williams' work rate by crisp, counter punching. It's less enticing to come forward if you keep getting tagged when you throw.

You know what? You have made it obvious that you know absolutely nothing at all about Joe Calzaghe, and all this hate that you and many others show is born of ignorance, plain and simple. Honestly, your warped, twisted, and frankly completely ridiculous views are sickening.

Post a video link or point out exactly where he has "dived in" in a particular fight.

Hopkins lost to Jones (no disgrace admittedly), took 9 rounds to catch up with former lightweight De La Hoya, lost to Jermain Taylor twice (albeit in close fights) and edged Winky.

The Tarver win was impressive but how good was Tarver? Answer: we'll find out against Clinton Woods on April 12th.

You forgot Glen Johnson - arguably Hopkins best performance (Johnson himself says that was the only fight where he was completely dominated)...............but that was over 10 years ago!

The Joe nuthugging is qetting quite severe. Look, Joe might blow Hopkins out of the water, but nothing that Joe has done in the past justifies the idol worship that keeps getting heaped on him.
