Hopkins always said he takes away his opponents' best weapon. What is Calzaghe's?

Many people use that argument because Hopkins fans say the same **** about Calzaghe. That's all it is. Stop talking **** about Calzaghe and the **** talk about Hopkins will die down. Keep on slagging off Calzaghe and you can expect nothing back but retaliation.

Why people can't just be fans of both fighters is a mystery. It's either one or the other, country vs. country, black vs. white. What a load of crap. Both these guys are exceptional boxers. May the best man win.

my point is compare genuine SMW's calzaghe has beaten to genuine MW's hopkins has beaten and all of a sudden the hopkins fanboys who clap their hands with glee when comparing the two fighters resumes won't be so happy.

if you don't think weight played a part for the DLH fight then there really is no point talking, he was so outgunned it wasn't even funny. at least oscar had some nice tits at MW.

Well, did Hopkins not defend his MW title for 21 times? Is it his fault the MW division was weak during his reign? But did he not take on all the top contenders to defend his titles? Isn't that what Calzaghe did? Stay at one weight class for a sustained period of time and defense his titles in a weak division?

And i never said that weight played no part in the DLH. I just said you guys are overstating this point. That's ALL you focus on. Of course Hopkins was the naturally bigger man. We all know that. But that doesn't mean it was David versus Goliath.

exactly, this is my point. there is not much between them in terms of resume, you can make a decent arguement for one man having the better and vice versa.

seriously though DLH didn't stand a chance, i'll openly admit that i give very little credit to him for that win. winky a bit more and then tito and bit more, in that order.

glen johnson and tarver are hopkins best wins imo.

Jones was supposed to fight Calzaghe TWICE, according to Frank Warren. So what happened there then? Bad risk vs. reward? I think so.

Hopkins ducked Calzaghe 6 years ago and Joe has talked about nothing but fighting him since 10 years ago. These are just facts. Calzaghe has been ready for Hopkins for a decade.

with all due respect that's warren's word and i couldn't give two shits what that snake has to say.

AFAIC there was never any contact between the RJJ and calzaghe camps and neither fighter ducked that one.

Well, "ducked out" or the fact that he had no incentive to go over to Europe and that if Calzaghe wanted Hopkins, he had to come over to the US? Where was the fight supposed to take place?

I mean it's like you don't dictate where DLH is going to fight. You don't dictate where PBF is going to fight. They are the big names. You have to fight on their terms. That doesn't mean a fighter is "ducking" someone if a fight isn't made.

So yeah, i give you
