Ok im not bitching about b hop or slagging him down so dont look at my picture and get the wrong idea. Hes actually 1 of my favourite boxers and a modern day great, 1 of the longest raining champs of all time, but i dont honestly think he can be classed as an all time great! he lost his first fight at LH, moved down to middle, He cleared up a pretty average middle wieght apart from a couple of good wins ( johnson, echols, joppy) His biggest wins came against blown up fighters, de la hoya, tito, winky. i love the boxing lesson he gave tarver and pavlik but id never put them in his class. when he has met class fighters he has lost, RJJ, Calzaghe. 2 losses to taylor who has gone on to show he isnt that good! im not picking whols in his career because i rate him very highly and he has had an awsome career im just putting my reasons forward for why i wouldnt class him as an ATG, let me know your opinion cheers!

Hopkins had some lackluster performance but only for the Tarver and Pavlik fight, he deserve to be on the ATG list. He will be remembered as one of the great, even with his safety first attitude.

does calzaghe make your ATG list because how you answer that will help me gauge your criteria (or agenda if thats the case)

The still formidable B-Hop is without question an all time great.

No question about it. Top 5 MW, above average resume, and skill-level to compete with anyone

if you think statistically for 100 years there should be something like 10 fighters per decade who are top 100 ATG worthy .... so if you go back in 10 years and try to chose 10 fighters who should be in top 100 then you may consider Hopkins as a strong case.

Hopkins is obviously an all-time great

has been the underdog in big fights - tarver, pavlik and trinidad

Fought other ATG's in De La Hoya, RJJ and Calzaghe

Not to mention his many defences of the title and his other achievements
