Yes. I don't care about the 5 loses. He fought everyone put infront of him with style. 10 years as middle weight champ. 43 years old and still puts in classy performances. Losing to Calzaghe, RJJ and Taylor is nothing to be ashamed of. His standard of opposition always high.

What says everything you need to know about the man is the fact he lost his very first fight with Clinton Mitchel. A lot of boxers would crumble, lose self belief but he took time out gathered himself together and has had a career which 99.9999% of boxers would trade there right arms for.

All time MW great. All time great period.

Pity about his 'White boy' comment.

How many times is this question going to be asked?

The man defended his title 20 ****ing times, and unified all four (some would say 5) major belts:

He is an all-time great, period, point blank. That is definitely a topic not up for discussion.

I do agree with you on the "White boy" comment.

That's just as bad as Alan Minter declaring "NO Black man will ever take my title" and Hagler demolishing him for those comments.

It's all good man, I apologize.

It's just that I've seen a billion threads on here asking the same question about Hopkins.

People can and have let his personality overshadow his ring talents at times, but he is who he is, and I respect him for it.

Good to see you acknowledge him as an all-timer.

He took some stick in his long stint as middle champ, but fought anyone who was there, everyone knew who the middle weight champ was .He showed true class in beating Tito and has not stopped doing that since. In my opinion he beat calzaghe and still has a lot to offer even at 43/44.I dont say it lightly but i think this guy is an all time great.
