He was offered 16 million American according to the original site that reported it, which is about 8mil in England.
Yes, but Calzaghe just said "lets do it" and much more recently. Either way, Calzaghe and Hopkins are about done. The money is there....screw who promotes it. That's not Calzaghe or Hopkins problem.
....and this is where we shall run into potential problems, frank warren and GBP. frank warren is a stubborn, tight fisted ****er who doesn't want to lose his biggest cash cow.
yeah, that seems to be a misinformed article looking at all the others I have read stating $8m, but either way it's decent money... but on the flip side it's not much more than then Kessler fight which wasn't even PPV. $16m is a great offer, $8m while good is lower than JC's worth at this moment imo, now that he's ranked so highly PFP. Stumbling block here will be Warren, you cant exclude him from the promotion at all, he wont stand for that at all, but it's a good way for Hopkins to blame the fight for not happening if that's how it plays out... then he can cite JC's camp as the reason it never happened and the ducking arguments can continue lol
Ridiculous oversimplification. Calzaghe and Taylor fight NOTHING alike! Styles! Hopkins outclasses Calzaghe en route to a UD victory. :smoke
Great initial offer and imo shows that Hopkins is serious about making the fight. I'm sure they'll be able to iron out the details from here.
I'd like to, depends on where in NY. Not sure I'm too keen on heading to the Bronx, but we'll see. :good
No one seems to be interested in how much Hopkins will make from this fight. If its far more and both camps will have a rough idea how much it will be then its a bull**** offer.Didn't DeLaHoya make 40 mill for his recent super fight.I wouldn't be surprised if Hopkins would make double what Calzaghe would make in this offer.
8 million is not a big enough offer for Calzaghe, who recently made about 10 million fighting Kessler. but i think its 16 millions not 8
