Why? IF we're really honest with ourselves, he was never really a GREAT fighter to begin with. If he's healthy, in shape, and not destroyed mentally from a loss to some fighter (who could that be? :p), he is word class, but not a world CHAMPION.

I just don't know WHY the thought that even to begin with. Lacy had tough fights against mediocre opponents, and even the description of his physical attributes isn't really that accurate. I never saw anything that made me think he was that fast, or had that much power.

palvik was over hyped, hatton was over hyped, lacy is not, he was sold above average fighter, but when you go against an ATG, your made not to look good, an the hype going into that fight just motvated joe to much,,,an if lacy corner stopped the fight around the 7th, they would saved there boxer, now he might be called overated, but anyboxing fan should know that the beating he took at the hands of joe, has pretty much ruined him....Lacy corner an the ref did him a misjustice, he lucky he not eating from a straw now,:hi:

They have the right to hype the fight, everyone was picking Lacy going into this fight and no one gave Calzaghe a chance. Claims that he was a fraud, cherry picker..etc were all over the place and Lacy by memorable KO was the prediction almost everyone had, including myself. Joe going in as a big underdog is more than enough for them to enjoy the victory and mention it over and over.

The only one skilled enough to show Lacy so what he is, is Calzaghe

Lacy has looked awful since the Joe fight and his injury. He is not the same fighter as he was before, never in a million years.

No, Lacy WAS overhyped. If you weren't aware of it, before he fought Calzaghe, the American media was making him out to be the next Tyson. Hell, someone people even called him a 168 lb Tyson! You should watch some of Lacy's fights before he fought Calzaghe.

    You are right.

In my oppinion, neither Lacy or Pavlik have or will change since their defeats. Both have flaws (like almost any fighter does) and they were in the ring with HOFs. What more is there to say - not too much should be read into this.

we will find out vs JT...he didnt look to good in his last 3 fights but before that he showed some scary power and some skills...I think and hope JT beats him but the verdict is still out on lacy til he loses another big fight...calzaghe was just unreal that night and a bad matchup for lacy...and maybe he did ruin him for life...i made 200 on it though:good

I seen several of lacys fights before he fought joe, an he was a killer, joe just broke him,,,,no way does manfrado go the distance with lacy pre-calzahge,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,an for the person that says palvik isn't over-hyped, ha ha ha ha,,,not saying he is a bum, but he no p4p, if he fought winky wright the result would be the same or strum, he won't do good against top boxers,,,an yea taylor WAS one, but that is he WAS one, not any more, he didn't have his heart in boxing for about the last four fights, an that is two with palvik,,,:hi:

Scar, this is why I respect your posts. You see these guys talking AFTER the fact lol. Lacy was picked to beat Cal. This fight was about styles, not experience. Nobody really knew how good Calzaghe was. When he fought on a Tyson undercard, Cal won but didn't impress. I think it was against Starie, and Cal injured his hand. It was the first time I believe America got a chance to see Cal. They thought Cal was just another Euro fraud going in to the Lacy fight, and now Lacy was never good. He has one loss to Cal, and is belittled after the fact...comical guys.:good Good post Scar...
