It was a stinker - Bernard stank the joint out - as soon as his tank started to run low he was looking for a DQ , he made Calzahge look **** but still lost .
I was in the arena in 1999 for calzahge v reid - robin didnt get going at all till midway through the 5th - the first 4 rounds were a beat down by Joe - anyone who thinks reid won must have watched the youtube highlight vid only.
If he didn't give him a rematch back then, he wouldn't do so now when he's retired and inactive for 3 years. Joe preferred a fight with Jones(because he looked superb against Lacy) back when a rematch made sense.
yeah...like b-hop don't do trilogies; (unless you're robert allen). :nut y'know...i hear about that fight being "close" & a "robbery" all the time...& it has to be from people who simply haven't seen the fight. i am absolutely convinced that the judge who scored it to reid got the fighters mixed up. :bbb
The reason people claim it to be a robbery is because it was a SD and Calzaghe is 46-0.....they need something to look back on and ***** about, just like hte BHop fight.
Mario Veit deserved his rematch. He stopped Brewer to become Joe's mandatory. So Joe would have fought Charles Brewer again if he'd defeated Veit. Like I said, Hopkins had the chance to fight Joe in 2002, but he backed out. Maybe Hopkins should have stopped off at 168 before going to 175 from 160.
Bhop needs to get over it, calzaghe beat him and that's the end of it If Bernard had spent more time trying to fight instead of feining Injury then we may have had a fight worth watching, instead he turned it into a stinker. He should concentrate on chad Dawson now and not overlook him to a fight with Joe
