The guy has been counted out plenty of times and he keeps surprising us. You gotta wonder though. When will he not be able to do it? He is about 46 and no 46 year old should be a top fighter. Really says alot about his craft. All i know is this is not a guy i would be worried about if it was a 40 year old Hopkins. Damn listen to what i just said....
DLH, Trinidad, Pavlik, Tarver. Nobody thought he could do it in those well DLH yes but the rest people were counting him out and he was fighting guys that were supposed to destroy him yet he dominated them for 12 straight rounds.
i hear you....good point....at the same time...like i said...hes going to have be thoroughly dominate to get that win...as dominate as he was in those fights....i dunno if he can still be active enough over 12 rounds against a young, athletic guy whos in shape, to do that
The thing about Pascal is that he lunges in alot and gets off balance. A guy like Hopkins im thinking is banking on that and countering that aggression posbbly knocking him down and making him insecure therefore making him fight out of his element. Thats when Hopkins just takes over. This has to be done early before Pascal puts rounds in the bank.1-3 rounds.
another excellent point.....bhop is still a master of the craft and can exploit flaws....and you are right...if bhop catches him off balance and puts him down you know 'nards face will light up with that grin.....and that could be the turning point
That tells us he knows how to beat Pascal. The only thing is: is he still able to do it? His 2 last performances have convinced me he is shot. Each month, yes, each month, his body loses strength and his stamina decreases. The bookies think he knows how to do it but won't be able to do it.
Don't underestimate Pascal or his coach Marc Ramsay. They are fully aware of his flaws and what Hopkins will want to use. The strategy against Dawson was picture perfect and nobody foresaw it. I have no idea what he's going to do in the ring on december 18th, but you can be sure he will not come in with no gameplan or simply rely on his youth like Pavlik did, for instance.
