I don't recall anything of the sort. When and where did Ward supposedly ever exhibit this idea that he "badly wanted the Hopkins fight"?

He didn't kill himself to make weight, he made incredible sacrifices to remain there.

Most fighters make huge sacrifices, but Bernard's on another level.

Running 7/8 miles per day when he hasn't got a fight lined up, specifically measuring pieces of his food, drinking nothing but water, going into restaurants and personally speaking with the chef to have his food cooked in a certain way.

Jeez, why can't you just watch his career unfold?

    Everyone's circumstances are different.

    Bernard wasn't perfect.

He was happy to coast along at MW for years, until King put together his tournament.

He wasn't always willing to face the best. He ducked a huge fight with Roy in 2002, and he only left MW in 2006 after back to back defeats against Taylor.

He stayed in a relatively weak division for about 13 years.

How the hell can you do a direct comparison between a 34 year old fighter and a 51 year old fighter?

If it was now 1999 instead of 2016, would you be criticising Bernard in the way you're now criticising Golovkin?

And yet, according to you, Roy never once ducked anyone.

Do some research if you're really interested.

Bernard is naturally bigger than Golovkin.

I don't believe that Roy ever ducked anyone out of a fear of losing to them, no. But he didn't want to fight Collins, Nunn and Rochigianni.

What has that got to do with this thread?

Hopkins was a legend he pulled it off
If GGG jumped up to 175 he would get schooled by Chad Dawson

Hopkins was forced out of 160 by then Young Lion undefeated Jermain Taylor, two defeats took away all his belts & he had to leave 160, otherwise Bernard would have been still at 160 :smoke

Depends on what you mean by "natural". Hopkins got down to the lowest division he was able to get to while remaining strong, fit and healthy which is what most boxers do.
