Hopkins beat dawson or the fight was EVEN....

For Jones. Listen man. After every round, the judges turn in their scores for that round. You can't lose 7 rounds and win without a knockdown or some other point deduction. Its simple. Tarver did do more damage than Jones, but points win fights not damage. Hopkins always says look at my face after a fight. His face can't win a fight. POINTS DO.

 

For his age I reckon Hopkins looked good last night and competed well throughout but he just didn't do enough to win the majority of the rounds.

There's not really a case to be made that he won.

I didn't see Hopkins to anything to win the fight. All he did was throw wild right hands and then follow with his head. No jab, no hook, just wild rights. You can't expect to win by doing nothing but holding and clinching and then saying you were the champ and he didn't beat you decisivly. Even in the last rounds, there was no urgency on his part, just the same old stuff. I'm no fan of Dawson, but he clearly won the fight.

 

Clear loss. I had it 9-3 dawson. I'd love to know which 6 rounds the ts thinks hopkins won.

 

I dont think a draw is unreasonble. Niether fighter really did anything to win.

 

I didnt think it was that wide but Hopkins either lost or drew

After 4 or 5 though it looked as if Bernard was gonna dominate

he won 5 of the first 6 on my card and Dawson was badly cut

im like this may go to the cards soon and we may be robbed

then I had Dawson win a bunch in a row after 7

some were close i count about 3 or 4 swing rounds

oddly enough it was dawson who started bad and finished strong

 

i gave hopkins round 2,3,4,9 and 11... round 1 and 12 could ve gone either way...
117-111 were terrible scorecards.. as were HBO's commentating team.. but what else is new... They were saying how Dawson was landing all these clean hard blows... really.. apart from a few in round 6 and 7 i saw none of them.. Hopkins was landind the cleaner shots troughout the fight.. on the other hand he should ve gotten points deducted for both holding and headbutts.... terrible fight overall.

Hopkins made him miss which was impressive at his age against a much faster opponent but he didn't make him pay nearly enough. He did land clean rights but very few and far inbetween. Dawson landed the much more cleaner punches and fought very well.

Hopkins picked up a lot of punches and made Dawson miss but Dawson still landed the better shots.
Hopkins won 3 rounds. I can see someone giving him 4.

 

Do Hopkins fans (I should take that back since I'm a fan) anybody know anything about ring generalship and effective aggressiveness
