Jones is what 5'11 and a half, when he jumped up to take on Ruiz, who has similar body type, power and skill set as Chagaev, and he took Ruiz to school back in 02. Hopkins is 6'1, and maybe with some work can get up to 200 in a years time, gaining the weight the right way. I don't think it's as impossible to do as some people may think. It's not like were throwing Hopkins in there with a Tyson or a heavy banger with a decent skill set. I believe Chambers would probably beat Hopkins with the jab alone, and win a decision, similar to when Hopkins lost to Jones. Now I do feel Hopkins would take Chagaev to school, he's slow, throws looping hooks, and is not all that busy. Hopkins would make him miss, and he would counter him all night, then clinch in close quarters. I would bet a thousand that Hopkins would beat Chagaev, he would more and likely lose to Chambers though, the guys got fast hands and is pretty well schooled imo.
Man, Hopkins would bet knocked out and seriously hurt. This shows how haters are grasping from straws. Povetkin beat Chambers, after Vlad knocks Povetkin out, Vlad will knock Chambers out, hopefully live on USTV.
You're ****ing ******ed Hopkins cannot beat any good heavyweight at his age period. Chagaev was a great amatuer boxer and is very skilled, it's just that he's too inactive, Hopkins would look like the freaking marshmellow man at HW, he would lose all his speed and he was never known as a power puncher in the first place. Chambers would knock him out, Chagaev would knock him out, Arreola would knock out Hopkins. Hopkins does not have a frame of a heavyweight, he cannot fight at heavyweight, especially at his age. Also your comparison between Chagaev and Ruiz, is poor, Chagaev is a puncher who likes to slug it out. Ruiz was a catious boxer. Seriously people need to quit with this whole Hopkins can compete at heavyweight. I doubt he can even beat Tomasz Adamek at cruiserweight, and Adamek would be considerded a small heavyweight if he were to move up.
I disagree, name one decent heavyweight Chagaev has knocked out in his career? Thats right, he never did. In fact most of his best wins were by SD or MD, so that tells you he hasn't dominated one big name fighter in his career. Audley Harrsion had a good amateur background, so did Henry Tillman, neither one was able to bring that up to the pro's with them. I'm not saying Hopkins would steam roll over every heavyweight in the division, but if he picked his oppenent wisely he can pull a Roy Jones and Chagaev would be a perfect target. The man is medicore at best anymore, his fights against Drummond and Skelton showed how far gone he currently is, even before he faced Wlad.
Illogical thinking here due to extreme bias. I like Hopkins at middleweight, but heavyweight? And beating Vitali and Vlad? Even Hopkins would laugh at that one.
