i think it's pavlik. he practically was written off. it also was a very entertaining fight from hopkins. how often do we see an entertaining b-hops fight. hopkins didn't clinch and fought almost all the three mininutes, and threw combinations

Pavlik or Tarver because these guys were his own size and very good fighters.

Actually I would say Tarver. Bhop jumped from 160 to 175 and absolutely dominated Tarver. He was close to stopping him in the late rounds. No one else ever did that to Tarver so that was very impressive.

For Tarver he was 40+ jumping 2 divisions, I dont know by how much Tarver was the favorite but it was a lot and Tarver was a better champion than Pavlik.

    Tarver and Glen Johsnon

Tito and Oscar had no business north of 154 ..

Pavlik was way to green for Hopkins ..

The Trinidad fight help Hopkins get recognized more in the boxing world. I would say though in my opinion I feel the Pavlik is his best victory. I never would have thought he was going to defeat Pavlik the way he did esp. the age difference. But what people have to realize also both of his defeats over Pavlik and Trinidad were against smaller guys. Trinidad's true dominace was at 147 and even 154. Pavlik also was the smaller guy. I feel though if Hopkins was to beat guys like Jones, Calzaghe, or even Taylor the way he did to Pavlik and Trinidad it would have been much impressive. But it's too close to call which was his best victory between those two guys.

People cant seem to accept Hopkins lost to Taylor and Calzaghe but theres no shame in losing to either.
Hopkins debuted at LHW and of the time Hopkins fought a very good fighter his own size or bigger (except for Tarver who had been beaten 3 times already) he lost ie Jones, Taylor twice and Calzaghe.
Best Hopkins victories to me were Wright & Pavlik smaller fighters who had to come up in weight but good victories all the same and the other good one, even though the fight was boring I thought was against H Eastman who was a fighter that could put in good and awful performances but all the same was better than he looked that night which was down to Hopkins good performance
