Pavlik was probably his best win, all things considered.

Tito was his most significant win, career-wise. Had he not landed that fight and won it, he would not be mentioned in the terms he is today. Moreover, it opened further doors for him later.

Bernard was not a great business man, and decided to self-promote. This was prompted by greed. The result was that he failed to land the big meaningful fights till late in his career.

Before the Tito fight, his resume was good, but not great. His reign at MW was little (if any) better than Calzaghe's at SMW.

He had some decent wins (Vanderpool, Holmes etc) but just as many (or more) mediocre wins (Brown, James, Allen, Allem, Allen etc).

    He lacked star opponents.

Thus, undefeated Tito, who had one previous fight and one previous victory at middle, over a decent but far from great Joppy, wqs a name Bernard could use to indicate he'd stepped up.

So, while the Tito fight was perhaps his most significant win, given Tito's previous (and subsequent) success at MW, it was not a great win.

BTW, I picked Bernard all the way in that one.

    Oscar ?

An important win, given Oscar's name. But again, a former 130 lb champion who also had one previous fight at middle wt and looked like **** in that one.

An important win, but not a great win.

    That leaves Pavlik and Tarver.

    (Ipicked Bernard to win both).

I regard both of these as GREAT wins.

In each case, the opponent was talking about whether or not they should hold back on account of Bernard's age etc., and both mentioned that this was boxing and such, and they were going to stop him. Tarver was a very decent LHW and Bernard was moving up. Bernard schooled him in decisive fashion.

    Pavlik ?

Well, after the loss to Calzaghe (and yes Tommy et al, it was a clear and decisive loss. You can't win a fight just by 'spoiling' and making your opponent look bad. You've got to DO something to win), most thought the undefeated Pavlik, who was a big, strong, hard-punching MW and SMW, would have an easy time with Bernard.

Again, Bernard took the boy to school and made it look easy.

So for me, it comes down to Pavlik or Tarver.

Given all the factors, age, quality of opponent, etc. IMO, Pav was his best win.

Trinidad. The Tarver fight is a close second and is probably his most impressive victory, but the victory over Tito is the most memorable
