Are you ****ing stupid? Hopkins is the exact same guy that fought Calzaghe, styles make fights dummy. Allergic to guys with a pulse? Recently he's fought two undefeated guys touted as the next big thing and beat them comfortably. I don't know why i'm bothering talking to you, you're obviously a hater. RJJ isn't beating anyone, let's be realistic. he looked flat-footed and average against a retired welterweight in his last fight. I'd be shocked to see Roy go twelve to be honest.
They are both such excellent fighters. I'd love to see a rematch. I actually enjoyed the first fight.
I agree. Me too. I think we're in the minority though... Most people want to see KO's and can't understand technical boxing. I guess that's why UFC is so popular.
1stly, I want to say that Calzaghe has been my favourite fighter ever since Morales retired/semi-retired & it has nothing to do with him being British, I dont care about that - I cheered in my friends faces when Tyson KOd Bruno & had a massive grin when Morales beat McCullouch & both times I was the only one in a full drunken house that wanted these fighters to win, it was a good laugh - I like JCs style of fighting & I did think JC edged Hopkins last time tho I couldnt have argued the verdict gone to B-Hop. I really like Hopkins as a fighter + he`s probably the best talker since Ali & I would be worried about the rematch should JC get past RJJ but as long as its a better fight than last time with B-Hop being more aggressive like vs Pavlik then Im all for it. I think Joe can pull it out again but this time by close UD, a bit less debatable but nowhere near a domination... nobody will dominate Hopkins. Cheers.
It reinforces the fact that Calzaghe is in semi retirement after clearing out the SMW division, then beating a legend. However, the fact that he took on the fighters everyone said he HAD to fight to prove himself blows your comment out of the water. Yeah, that's right - pretty much everyone said that he needed to beat Lacy and Kessler to be considered a great fighter before those fights (and the majority of posters on this board were picking him to lose both), they only said the fights were meaningless AFTER Calzaghe won.
LOL, wasn't that my line to you? at least you memorised it and were able to put it to use in a new thread. 9 rounds 8 at a push for Joe.
Mediocrity? Ring Magazine #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, and #6 at Heavyweight Ring Magazine #2, #3, and #4 at Cruiserweight Ring Magazine #1 at LHW Ring Magazine #1 at SMW Ring Magazine #2, #3, and #4 at MW Ring Magazine #1, #4, and #5 at 140 :think
Oh god, not again. Please dont let these old farts fight again. Their first fight was dreadful to watch.
The elite guys in MMA/UFC are technically very good at what they do but thats a whole other topic so....... I actually prefer a 12 rd skillfest between 2 skilled, durable boxers than a dominant 4th rd KO type fight but I must admit I wasnt to impressed with the JC/Hopkins fight. Their strengths & styles in general prevented each other from showing their best stuff, Joe`s volume with few quality shots vs Hopkins quality with not enough volume was quite frustrating at times. I do think a return would be better however & would like to see it. :thumbsup
Its retaliation for me stating Americans adore mediocrity, i.e homes, clothes, history, education, sports etc etc...basicually regurgitating others lines.... at least he is compiling a dossier of words at last.
