wasn't saying u were being unreasonable.

just giving the reason why calzaghe was loyal to warren.

because he gave joe a leg up when he needed it.

and i hate warren by the way. :yep

i wish calzaghe had left him. :hi:

Bravery and respect aren't opposite of each other you know?
The reporter was in no phsyical danger of Hopkins.
How he was speaking was not brave or fearless, it was disrepectful, and nothing to be proud of.

Thats the thing people don't understand. Just because I don't bestow greatness upon him in every thread doesn't mean I don't like him. The Glen Johnson thing is a pathetic tale really. James Douglas fought the most feared boxer on the planet just weeks after his mother died but Joe couldn't fight the Road Warrior because he was upset about the wife he'd cheated on.

I've been through far worse but have still gotten up for work the next day so don't bring that argument to me please. As for his injury, he's always injured in some capacity & if Joe was the superior athlete some of you make him out to be he would have had no problem dispatching Johnson.

I have more issues with Joe than the Johnson fight but I am reluctant to have this same discussion yet again unless I feel it is really worth it.

That reporter was a complete amateur and a disrespectful *****.

    I hope he gets sacked.

Bernard should have knocked that dick of a reporter out.

Hopkins would have lost his IBF belt had he not fought him again. He could have ditched it to fight Peter Manfredo in a joke fight I suppose.

    Thanks for the insight.

There's no room for sentiment in business. Warren would know that better than anyone.

Yeah because biographies don't try to paint their subject matter in the best of light do they?

Joe would have been stripped if he hadn't fought Veit.

    oh yeah true.

only calzaghe knows the truth i suppose.

he would have stood johnson on his head anyway.

did u see how dodgy he looked at times in that last woods fight.

calzaghe would have been paying him bigtime. :patsch

True but at least Hopkins had a big fight lined up next, unlike Joe who was treading water as usual happily letting the WBO & Warren (same thing) dictate his career.

Why is it Joe was desparate to keep his WBO bauble but was happy to give up his IBF belt to compete in one of the biggest farces of all time?

Probably but we'll never know for sure. The fight was due to take place at 175 a weight at which Joe is yet to fight.

I have no idea why he gave up the IBF belt to fight Manfredo, exposure I would assume, but it was a farce. :-(

He wanted to keep onto his WBO title because its his, he has had it for so long. I would imagen that it means more to him than any other title.

I knew we'd come to some sort of agreement in the end. Wouldn't have slept properly knowing I was at odds with you AND TFFP.
