I had it 114-113 for Hopkins. Could've been a draw or gone either way.

Welcome to ESB, and a good opening post. I had it for Hopkins too, by a similar margin (maybe a little closer).

The Calzslappers (the Calzaghe versions of *******s and *****s) won't like you too much though.

i dont know why people hang onto this fight anyway...it's like giving credit to calzaghe for fighting an old hopkins.

if anything, debating the decision gives hopkins credit for being so competitive after he lost to taylor twice and losing his crown...which is a big mental blow to an ageing fighter.

when i saw it live i thought calzaghe won it quite clearly, i think i gave him every round after 3/4 i cant remember. but seeing the fight live i wanted calzghe to win. soon after i sqw it i put a thread up asking how people could have thought hopkins won , obviously the resounding answer was clean effective punching.

to me it was a shite fight and one that i probably wont ever rewatch. so i onle have my original scoring to go off.

so yes i thought joe won, but dont put too much stock in it cos it was a first time viewing.

perhaps if i rewatched with no volume id feel differently, but that dont sound appealing right now.

I thought it was a close fight. Depends what you like but clean effective punching beats workrate and non-scoring slaps any day of the week.

Calzaghe shouldn't get any credit for this fight because it was only a win on paper.

I cannot stand Calzaghe, but I had him winning this fight.

I understand what people are saying about clean effective punching vs slappy work rate (eg I scored Hagler over SRL), but there has to be a limit - Hopkins did **** all for most of the fight, I cant really see how you could have him ahead.

Calzaghe won 11 of the 12 rounds real easy.

That would suggest you only gave B-Hop the first round?

I had it very close, once i scored it to B-Hop by a round and once Calz by two rounds, I couldn't bring myself to watch it a third time.

I gave it to Calzaghe by 2.... it was the play acting and constant clinching that did it for me... made me view the fight with a hint of bias because B-Hops antics were pissing me off

:huh how can you not score the 10th to hopkins??!

rounds 3 and 7 were pretty clear for b-hop as well, he landed all the meaningful shots in those rounds.

i think boxing is about the number of punches you land and the quality of the punches you land, not how many you throw

you are a journeyman poster for sure. crazy scoreline!!

explain to me which rounds i have scored wrongly then? :think

seems to me many fans on here like to criticize, but don't have the balls to discuss things in detail?
