Listen right, none of these fighters are scared of each other. Joe Calzaghe psychologically i compare to Lennox Lewis, always in a positive mind frame and does not give much away, his persona never changes. That in itself can be very intimidating for opponents.

Bernard Hopkins isn't going to be scared of any man, outside of a ring "With a gun or a knife", he is master at psychological warfare he using bully psychology, like Muhammad Ali, like Floyd Mayweather. But Bernard Hopkins has that street look, that bad man time, imposing physical make up. He is imtimidating man with a intimidating stare, much more imposing than Floyd Mayweather.

None of these fighters are intimidated. But Bernard Hopkins is looking for any weaknesses in Joe Calzaghe, by confronting him. Just like when Mike Tyson reverted back to the street in the Lennox Lewis press conference. Tried to intimidate find any weaknesses in his mind set, but there where none. Lennox Lewis threw the first punch, and did not back down.

i remember the same incident. I remember Ali talking about it and he looked hurt.

It's all to hype interest. And you're right about the hordes of racists out there, though their numbers are declining.

All the antics will draw in casual fans to a fight they think has more meaning than it does. Why do you think Tyson bit Lewis? Do you think he was hungry, missed lunch? The biggest ppv in history, that's why.

You're wrong about Calzaghe's standing. He's the second best boxer fighting at this point.

The BHop fight means lots to casual fans since BHop WAS a legend, but it would do Joe's legacy a great deal more good to face Dawson, Pavli or Taylor.

One of them has beaten Bernard (twice) and the other two would destroy him at this point in his career.

Joe is past prime too, but only just. He doesn' have a lot of fights left and needs to defeat one or two REAL present-day American greats to cement his legacy.

Imagine if Calzaghe had said that he would never let a black person beat him?

The world would be on fire. People would call him a racist. Rightfully so. But he would never say that. Too much class. And he is not a racist.
But when BHOp says that he would never let a white person beat him.
What happens --- Silence. No one criticises it.

Hopkins is not stupid. Maybe he hoped that Calzaghe too would start some racist slander. That would have been really great for hopkins. Because Joe would be a haunted man like that Seinfeld guy Richards.

And by being racist himself, Hopkins knew that he had nothing to loose. Because since he is a black guy people will not notice it. He knows that most people thinks that blacks cant be racist.
