It would be a GREAT accomplishment. I think most modern boxing fans would judge each fight on its merits rather than by how glamorous the divison has been seen in the past. In the same way being a belt holder means much less nowadays, its who you fight not so much the weight or titles at stake.

Also, I am willing to bet the 300k Bhop made for the joppy fight was a considerably larger % of fight purse than 500k is of the Adamek fight? I have heard 6 mil thrown around in which case it is barely a concession to have a 5m to 1m split in bhops favour for a chance to make history and cement your legacy. Adamek prob brings more fans to the actual eent anyway, bhop isn't known for his army of travelling supporters which do represent a decent portion of the money the fight makes. And if you lose, hey you were too old and faded now anyway?

I love hops I really wanted the fight to happen as I thought he had a good chance to win but I do feel the offer, IF it was 500k from 6 mil, is a bit insulting.
