You spectators fail to realize how very little information you possess.
Sure, you have Google, but Hopkins has GBP, direct line to DeLa Hoya, as well as personal relationship with the Mayweathers.
You might think that Hopkins talks a lot, but understand that you are only getting to hear 1/100th of the depth of the subjects that he truly possesses.

As the GBP VP of east coast operations Hopkins has a direct connections to fighters, fight prospects, networks, managers, and other points of intimate information. As spectators, you hardly have access to any of these detailed relationships.

Hopkins is giving you coarse information, but it depends on your insight to read between the lines.
The Bernard Hopkins mentality relative to Mayweather is as distinct as Ali's was to George Foreman's or Joe Louis's.

While I do see Mayweather as the best boxer of his generation and a person that has revolutionized the fight game in the way it is promoted and presented, I find it very presumptuous to wear hats and shirts with titles like "TBE." People have asked Michael Jordan repeatedly if he believes he's the best ever (in basketball). He's never accepted that title because he has too much respect for the legends that preceded him.

I think Hopkins has a point here. Mayweather hasn't even fought Pacquiao (his chief competition at the same weight class). Even the Canelo fight, after dogging Pacquiao for doing catchweights, he did the same thing.

 

Void is afraid to fight Pac period, which is a fact. Count how many excuses Void has made all these years to keep from fighting Pac. Void appears to believe that he will get knocked out by Pac. So, Void will never fight Pac and his ignorant fans believe anything he says............

Hopkins is right in his general point and wrong in the details. Armstrong never fought at 160, let alone for a belt.

It's simple. Anyone who thinks that Floyd Mayweather is 'The Best Ever' doesn't know **** about Sugar Ray Robinson, and/or doesn't know **** about boxing.
