Hopkins Dawson rematch a done deal, 28th April in Atlantic City. Regular HBO not PPV

Hop can't deal with Chad. I have very little doubt in my mind about this.

I look forward to an actual bout this time and an interesting tactical battle.

Also means Hopkins is out of the picture when it comes to Bute's next opponent. And Froch-Stieglitz is rumored for May 5th in Nottingham. If Ward fights Kessler, it's Dirrell or nothing for Bute. Well when I say nothing, it means resorting to Stevenson, Taylor or even Anthony Dirrell (still assuming Ward fights Kessler) since he IS currently ranked by the IBF. What a mess.

Bernard is my favourite fighter of course but this has nothing to do whatsoever with my expectations for this rematch. Dawson must fight out of character and that is what Scully and team have told him to do, not counter and side-step like he did so well against the always coming forward Adamek or Johnson. Chad even acknowledged that Tarver could have had a heavier punch so he resumed it all to flashy punching, volume and activity. I expect Hopkins and I do know him very, very well to make Chad chase him again and find some countermoves on short fast footwork... There was a reason Kelly Pavlik didn't have room to punch like he told his seconds and Tito spent 11 rounds tryin to set up a big left hook... It's b'cause you seldom remember that positioning is important and you don't stay stationary... You move side to side and on the back pedall, you control the distance and time your way in to invert sense forward and connect on a target that is more worried on coming in than to defend himself.

I was surprised Chad was worried on defense and ducked on right counter before the accident happened but it works fine all the same. One aggressor who is worried on not getting caught, doesn't charge and doesn't press the action. Obviously I trust much more on Hopkins controlling the pace and deciding to counter-charge than Dawson fighting out of character without losing his composure. Hopkins UD no doubts about it.

 

Lol at this fight. Dawson resorted to tackling when Hopkins started picking it up, this time he will bite Hopkins testicles off ala dumb and dumber. Hopkins had better watch out

 

:rofl First of all, Bernard is notoriously frugal with his money and still has most of it, which is far more than enough for him not to do **** for the rest of his life. Secondly, Chad couldn't draw flies to ****, so I don't see how anybody who isn't a complete ****ing moron could conclude that Hopkins is fighting this dork again because he needs the payday.

 

Lol. You know some people here don't make sense. Of course they will give kudos to Dawson for something like that. I still say Tyson was born 15 to early. He would have gotten away with a lot of **** in the public eye.

What's the point of a rematch?

Hopkins will just bail once again when things don't go his way.

He is only interested in another big payday.
