Hopkins/Dawson ruled a technical draw by WBC

Good decision, you don't tackle your opponent and win by TKO...

They have done it before. WBC throwed Rahman out of their rankings and lifted Toneys ranking up, when they didnt agree their fight result, being changed to no contest in 2008.

Anyway this like decission like their decission in 2008 is the right one.

So let's look at the facts here. Pascal got schooled by Hopkins twice. Then Dawson got a shot at a 46-year-old version of Hopkins, and he managed to get a draw. If Dawson even had half a brain, he would have reacted to BHop's leaning by just taking a knee. That's how you avoid getting weakened by your opponent's dirty tactics. Dawson has no brain. Period. Hopkins is outsmarting all these young guys, and they just look hopeless.

If Tavoris Cloud doesn't beat Bernard Hopkins, then we can definitely say that this is a very weak era in the LHW division.

Hopkins said "No rematch!". So he's gonna either retire, fight Tavoris Cloud or Jean Pascal.

But Hopkins in an earlier interview said he had no intention of fighting Cloud. He knows better than to fight guys with that kind of combination handspeed at his age.

 

Wonder if they'll overturn the Winky decision for win by headbutt.

What the hell is a technical draw? Anyways doesn't the California athletic commission make the decision to overrule the standing?

 

Apparently so ..It should be a no contest ..I could live with that .I have never heard of a technical draw ..Dam GBP must have greased allot of palms over at the WBC!

It stinks to me cos he never wanted to fight dawson. He wanted the belt and the only way he got the shot at the belt was if he agreed to fight dawson after. But he never wanted that fight. and when he steps in the ring he finds a way out without losing his belt.

no wonder dawson is pissed.

 

Dawson has all the right to be pissed ..He chased him for 3 yrs,stepped aside to alllow him to make history than he finally gets him then he does this ..Yeah im going to side with Dawson ..Hopkins knows he was going to get Koed ..

This will likely go down in the record books as a loss and Hopkins is still the champ. WBC and Ring riding that "history" wave.

 

I already given my opinion in the Mather. But, if the CA commission stand by the ref, I think the WBC should give the title to Dawson. You just cannot have the looser of a fight keeping the belt while the winner of the fight with nothing. Even if I think that Dawson made a foul and that a no contest is the fair things to do, the looser should not awarded.

It's like if they give the Cup to the looser of the Stanley cup final (or whatever) sports you follow.

 

If the CA commission stands by the ref than Dawson will have a legal avenue to explore against the WBC, Hopkins never wanted any of Dawson and disgraced himself last week.
