In a very dull and un interesting Light Heavyweight division there is one fight us boxing fans are craving for :

    Benard Hopkins vs Chad Dawson

While i see Hopkins as an ATG , his bull **** excuse of " i dont wanna ruin another up and coming Amrican star " is just not washing with me at all , added to that Dawson is no doubt world class and undefeated , but has shown vulnerabilities .

Is Hopkins ducking Dawson ?? , does Dawson beleive he can beat Hopkins ??? , is it financial ?? , just why has this fight not even got off the ground , your thoughts please !!!!!!!

I can't really say that hopkins is ducking Dawson it doesn't seem like either one of these guys is anxious to fight the other. I'd favor Dawson. he presents a lot of the same problems for Bernard that Taylor did in a bigger package.

At his age it would be bizarre to accuse Hopkins of ducking anyone. Isnt it funny that the talk about Hopkins has changed so much. People gave up the theory that Hopkins might get old overnight, or him beeing too old in general. There is always talk about him fighting this one and that one. After he lost his middleweight belts nearly everyone thought his career is over. Its really amazing.

I guess even a guy like BHop gets to a point where he realizes he doesn't have to prove anything anymore and gets rid of the chip on his shoulder. And if he does still come back, i think it will be to fight Roy Jones, about whom he DOES still have a chip on his shoulder, it seems to me.

Are you serious? Bernard Hopkins is an old man, and he has every right to pick and choose who he wants to fight. How did you muster up the courage to tell a 44 year-old boxer he is afraid of Chad Dawson? The fact that he is willing to even continue fighting at this age makes him fearless in my eyes. Have respect for your elders.

I think it comes down to money. HBO is just starting to invest in Dawson. If they had did so earlier - I think this fight would have been made already. As of now - I don't think there's enough money there to satisfy Hopkins - let alone - both of them.

After paying a little over 3 million for the Tarver/Dawson fight - there's no way you get Hopkins vs. Anyone for that amount of money and I don't see many people buying it - if it's a PPV show.

Hopkins only wants the biggest fights or legacy fight. Adamek would be something to add to his legacy - but he should have thought about that before he only offered $500K for Adamek. This could have been a pretty good scrap.

Eh, I don't really want to see them fight. Hopkins doesn't have anything left to prove. He should just retire, even though he may still be in his prime at the ripe age of 43. lol.

Om FNF Hopkins said pretty bluntly that he's not interested in fighting anymore younger fighters and ruining their careers. He's also been pretty upfront about Dawson being a no name fighter who brings no money to the table.

Hopkins (like GBP stablemate Shane Mosley) is in cash grab mode.

Hopkins is retired, Dawson is better off fighting others.
