Couldn't have said it better myself. That's the difference between an athlete and a fighter...

Definite factor, one could alledge in their opinion.

He definitely has become stronger and his cheek bones have changed shape over the past few years, one could alledge in their opinion.

I thought Hopkins beat Taylor the first time and earned a draw the second. I dont think Taylor ever beat Hopkins and if it had been a 15 round fight Taylor would have been stopped in both.

I also have to add that post Trinidad everything was gravvy as far as his record is concerned. Keep in mind most people thought Hopkins was past his prime and ready to be taken when he fought Tito and that was 9 years ago...

    Not really. Styles make fights.

And it's not like he clearly lost both fights. Many obviously think he won one or both. And in both fights, he landed the harder, cleaner shots.

I honestly think that the weight affected him. He should've been fighting at 168 or 175 by that time. That really limited his output.

I don't know why that isn't obvious to all, but Jorodz and Techks aren't buying the argument.

I think you need to trot out the equations and/or the graphs.

I can't see them arguing against irrefutable visual evidence.

Psychological pretensions on Hopkins' part were also significant. When he beat Pavlik I thought he'd erased them. Perhaps not now.

That and Taylor has lost a step since those fights.

I don't think B-Hop's legacy is tainted by this at all really.

    Not at all.

Taylor was a young, athletic bull, and Hopkins had been having trouble making 160lbs at that juncture. Two very close fights. Nothing to damage a legacy.

Not even. Taylor could hang with anybody he stepped in the ring with. Joke of a thread.
