Good point!I can see what you mean and I do feel sorry for Dawson and to be honest feel Hopkins made a meal of the whole thing. It might make fighters think a little bit more before blatantly fouling though.

I don't mean to be too harsh on Hopkins on this occasion, he might be telling the truth, but he does have a record of making a meal of these sort of things, in my opinion. What gets me most, is that he's such a very dirty fighter, spoiler, that complaining about being fouled, all seems so very rich coming from him. It wasn't that bad a foul, Hopkins has got away with far, far worse, many times.

Most fighters just get on with it.

Anyway, let's see how it goes, I'd like to see a rematch. Despite picking Dawson to win this one, for some very odd reason, I think I may favour Hopkins in a rematch.:huh

Yes a rematch is needed for sure.Think I would pick Hopkins to win,I had him to win this one and would back him again.

This is true. Still an NC or DQ though.

I agree it should be a NC.

All Dawson did was shrug him off with the shoulder, see worse in most fights.

No-one crys abour the barrera hamed turnbuckle thing do they?

Probably because it didn’t end the fight. If it had and Hamed was rendered unconscious, Barrera would have been DQd. He certainly wouldn’t have won by TKO.

If Hamed was not knocked unconscious and said instead he now had blurred vision and nausea, both unverifiable the same as Hopkins injury, would that be a dq win for Hamed ?

Yes, it would have been. I don't think anyone expects Hopkins to be awarded a DQ win (it would be nearly as bad as a TKO loss, in my opinion). But Dawson is eroding any goodwill that it wasn't his fault. His anger and petulance makes me think he might have done it on purpose since he a) wasn't landing and b) was getting countered.

Rewatch the fight (if you have a digital recording) and slow it down to half-speed. Hopkins lands a few little digging, hurtful shots. It certainly looked like he was figuring Chad out, albeit slowly.
