Yep! Speed beats Hopkins. GGG does'nt have the speed to trouble Bernard. Roy Jones had plenty of it, and Jermaine Taylor had enough of it.

 

Kovalev has average speed, and he schooled Hopkins. Bernard is a pale copy of who he was 10 years ago. Golovkin would beat him as easy as Kovalev did.

 

How many people are going to say "that's what they said about Kovalev"?

A 50 year old Hopkins clearly isn't the Hopkins in question. That said, Kovalev and Golovkin are two different animals and against Hopkins they don't pose even close to the same problems.

Hopkins would beat Golovkin, and clearly he'd have posed Kovalev more problems as a younger man too - but probably not enough to ever change the outcome of that fight.

 

Hopkins was 50 years old and fighting out if his best weight class when lost to kovalev dummy. We are talking about the best version of Hopkins here not the current version.
