Yeah, that's how he did so incredibly well in the amateurs: being just a basic fighter who punches hard. :patsch Get a clue.

Honestly, I'd have liked to have heard more from Bernard, like what he'd do specifically, expected more from the interview to be honest.

Bernard was talking about his current self, correct ? No way this 50-year old beats Golovkin.

The guy who beat Pavlik would have better chances, but Pavlik is a one-dimensional brawler, while Golovkin has much better skills. Prime Hopkins vs Golovkin would be an intereseting fight.

So funny how they claim it would not even be competitive when a bunch of Hopkins' defenses were very competitive. Surely this weak era explains that away holding to their ardent stance that is fight is not competitive.

So transparent. Fine if you think Hopkins wins but simply dismissing this as an easy fight is ridiculous.

A bunch would be an over exaggeration. Only Taylor who beat him and Echols were really competitive, he dominated everyone else. Maybe you could also say the first Allen fight but the fight had barely begun and we don't know how the rest of the fight would play out.

Taylor beat Hopkins because Taylor had the style and Hopkins was getting slower and his work rate had greatly diminished in recent fights.

Echols was competitive because Hopkins just went to war and brawled with Echols and he still barely lost a round in either fight.

Other than these fights Hopkins dominated everyone at middleweight. We've seen Hopkins dominate supposed power punchers like Pavlik and Tito and they were both at the time more proven than Golovkin is right now, it wouldn't be outlandish to think prime Hopkins dominates GGG.

I'm a huge Hopkins fan and I hate Golovk*nts, but lets be real, If he got into the ring with Golovkin at 50 he'd get snuffed in an awful, embarrassing way.

Lol, Pavlik is an alcoholic degenerate who by the time of the Popkins fight was succumbing to his genes.

Hopkins is an ATG at cheating, spoiling and shelling up to get decisions.

Kovalev could have got him out of there, you could tell he was trying to box and test himself against one of the craftiest boxers of our era. Once bhop stuck his tongue out Kovalev lost it though and almost killed Bhop.

Hopkins would dissect him for a while, but once he gasses out then 3G would probably stop him or batter him good. 40something Hopkins cant fight the full 12 anymore.

he definitely earned the right to say he would beat anyone in his weightclass.
if he does is another matter.

At 51 years old Hopkins goes the distance with Golovkin and probably loses by a close SD.

At 40 years old Hopkins goes the distance with Golovkin, knocks him down once or twice and wins by UD.
