Money fight or not, Dawson has shown me, hes the goods. Good old school fighter that throws good combinations. He would trouble Hopkins at this stage with his activity and pressure and Hopkins knows it. I believe HBO is only offering him this fight and now Hopkins wants to go beat up on Roy Jones conquerer Danny Green, bah hum bug, big deal. Id rather see Hopkins fight Jones Jr, than Green.
Dawson will be the new HBO poster boy that Jermain Taylor could never live up to.

I think Hopkins is that wrapped up in his own ego , that his legacy is cemented with his Pavlik win that he really doesnt care about current rankings , world title belts etc etc , he just wants good pay days for the least risk the guy has actually stated that in as many words !!!!!!!!

Part of me says you cant blame him but the other part says your a joke man ......................

The thing is, Hopkins arrived a good while ago as an atg, he's not obligated to fight anyone at all. Therefor i think it goes too far too accuse him of ducking anyone.

I cant blame Hopkins for taking the money fights, kind of picking at him, but Id like to see Dawson get his dues, because I think he would easily handle Hopkins. Hes really impressed me in his last couple fights.

Well I just read an interview with Hopkins and he was kind of talking **** about Dawson trying to downplay him, but I think youre right, he doesnt want any part of Dawson right now.

He's not obligated to fight Dawson, but it's pretty clear he'll go out of his way to NOT fight him. But if $$ fights are all Hops will take, he should be removed from any P4P rankings.

Lets face it Hopkins only wants to fight fighters that are not slick ones pure and simple. The last time Hopkins fought a defensive fighter was Winky wright in which Hopkins barely won in a catchweight that Wright had to move up 10 more pounds.

Hopkins has already claimed his legacy. He was the man at 175 briefly after beating Tarver which was a great achievement itself.

It is obvious that Dawson is a bad matchup style wise for Hopkins and he is 44 so I would rather not see him fight Dawson and loose. Really I think he needs to retire, if he wants to fight another few fights against guys that suit him style wise I dont have an issue with it.

Hopkins is a fighter at his end of career, there's no reason he needs to fight any top guys, he's not the champ so it's his call.

I never understood why so many feel the need to see a fighter nearing his career end have to fight the top til they get destroyed.

Let them go and finish however they like.

Meanwhile BHOP in a different case since hes still 'got it'. But again why fight Dawson, although talented (and id favor Dawson) he doesnt have the fanfare, etc. to make it happen.

For Hopkins Id only wanna see three fights: ADAMEK, TONEY and HAYE if hes serious. I wouldnt even care re JONES.

Let Dawson make his own Legacy, why does he need to take from Bhops, let him clean out his division or look up/down for someone under the age of 40-45 to fight, Adamek rematch at CW, how about Dawson-Cloud/Pascal/Bika/Bute/Cunningham or Huck?

I really want BHop to fight Dawson

BHop's lead right will catch Dawson from rounds 8 - 12

Rounds 1 - 7, Hopkins squeezes out some close rounds for himself
    and UD's Dawson.

The only way to clean out the lightheavyweight division is to fight the best fighter and since Hopkins is still fighting at that weight, Dawson wants to fight him. Hopkins said after the Espino fight that he still feels he's young and got more left. So if thats the case then he should fight Dawson or move up to cw or heavyweights for good so that Dawson can fight Pascal, Cloud.

They wont give hopkins a decision even if he deserves it over the future of boxing. Come on! I think the fight will be a tad easier than the calzaghie fight.
