I've seen several polls around the internet asking who won the fight, and the results show that some 75% to 85% of observers think that Calzaghe won the fight.

I rewatched the fight yesterday, and my own result was the same as the first time: 115-112. I was trying to be as generous to Hopkins as possible.

I understand some people are big Hopkins fans, and they are very disappointed and perhaps hurt because their fighter lost. But there comes a time to show good sportsmanship, and admit Joe won! :good

I had a close win for Hopkins. Both have seen better days.

There have been plenty of Hopkins fans admitting he won. Just because some are more vocal and making excuses doesn't mean they speak for everyone.

I have been a Hopkins fan for 12 years now. I had Joe winning the fight and i have given him credit. He has also replaced Pacman at #2 on my p4p list.

    Is that enough for you?

Nothing is enough for Calzaghe fans. They want everyone to say that Calzaghe won, and that Nard's age was not a factor in the fight. They also want you to say that Kessler is an elite fighter and that Calzaghe is one of the greatest fighters ever.

I'm a Bhops fan, a Katsidis Fan, a Morales fan, a Taylot fan and a Juan Diaz fan . . . and guess what? They all ****i'n lost. :rofl

But no big deal . . . you love this sports then you'll have to love everything in it, Including loses. I never made excuses for the losers . . . I give props to the winners that's because I love the sports more than the personalities. :good

That means you're a good sport. :good I wish everyone would be like that...

But there are some others that have been crying and whining all over the internet boxing forums the past few days. :-(

Joe has done exactly what was required. Defeated every fighter thats been put in front of him. He gets the thumbs up from me.

Its a shame that this fight didnt happen years ago when these guys were destroying fighters left right and centre.

Joe won. But Bernard made him look so crap that he might aswell have lost. Nobody will ever consider him an ATG now, especially he wants to take on a shot Roy Jones. Except for Brits.

I beg to differ. I think Joe will go down as an ATG with or without fighting RJJ

close fight, and he could very well think he won the fight and i know i wouldnt admit defeat if i didnt feel i was defeated. i did have the fight 115-112 for hopkins but can see that it could have gone either way

I'm not a massive Hopkins fan but I thought he won the fight, I was amazed when the judges gave it to Calzaghe. Bear in mind I didn't think the two Taylor decisions were in any way contraversial.....

I do dislike Calzaghe immensely, due to the fact that I've had to watch him fight bums for the last 10 years whilst the likes of McGuigan claim he is a 'great' when he clearly ****ing isn't. I fully agree with the rest of your post, no-one will ever consider him an ATG now because he's fought all bums and when he finally stepped up the level he got humbled by a 43 year old man and the scorecards were questionable at best. ATG's are guys like Jones who beat the likes of Hopkins and Toney when they're at their best. Barely beating a 43 year old Hopkins just proves the point that the Calzaghe haters have been making for years about this guy.
