That's so true. Calzaghe fans really do my head in sometimes. It was a very close fight. They should just be glad their man won. Instead they try to suggest that Joe clearly won the fight or even that Joe would have beaten a prime Hopkins!
I'm not British, and I have no Welsh or Italian heritage that I know of. But I think Joe is a unique and special talent, and there was nothing I saw Saturday night that convinced me otherwise. I was impressed by the way he adapted to Hopkins difficult style, and began to dominate by the middle rounds. Joe landed more punches on Hopkins than anyone ever has. In my opinion Joe is an all-time great! :bbb
I am a fan of Joes', but I agree with you, he should FIRST take On Chad dawson, and IF he wins that, go back to 168 and face Pavlik, and if he wins THAT too = reitre, and give the Calzaghe fans their dream...how's that??
roy said it best when he sayed the fight could go either way. one guy throws more and the other guy lands the harder flush shots.its what the judges perfer, 2 feel that the guy that threw more punches should win the fight and 1 sayed he liked the guy with harder shots. it is what it is, that bhop says he loss but not to joe.meaning the way the judges pick fights. spinks threw pitty pat shots on taylor in there fight just to lose because jermain through harder punches.it all depends on the judge and what they look for. hopkins aint gone change his style and try to match punch for punch with joe so again it is what it is. harder shots or more shots.who ever lands more wins most of the time unless ur spinks or winky and fighting jermain. and few other fights were the guy throws more but loses to the guy who had the harder flush.
No, not that I know of as there is no account of him ever being dominated. Has Joe ever looked this bad or worst against top competition (P4P top 10 or future HOFers)?
There's been people on both sides scoring fights for either fighters. I admit that it was a close fight and can see how people had it for Joe but I'm not going to lie, I thought Hopkins won.
