Hopkins giving the WBC Belt Back

Hopkins has the ring title, who cares about the corrupt wbc, good statement indeed.

 

The WBC is what officially counts and what made him the oldest champion in history.

 

He was just giving Pascal his title belt back. At a press conference, Pascal handed it to Hopkins jokingly and Hopkins took it back with him to Delaware. Hopkins has his own WBC belt now. I think it was as simple as "here's your belt that I took from you."

 

Does anyone have access to give a quick screen cap of the moment when B-Hop gave Pascal back his belt?
(I could swear it was the WBC's Diamond belt he handed to Jean)

I think at this point almost everyone considers Ring (and/or lineal) titles official.

 

He was not insulting Pascal, that belt is Pascal's for keeps and the WBC will send Hopkins his own one..... I think it was more a shw of respect after 24 rounds of fighting

Champions get their own copy of the belt to keep (providing they stump up the fee of course, yes on top of the sanctioning fee) so that was Pascals belt and he'd have been given it back anyway. It's unusual for the new champ not to use that belt for parading about then return it discretly later, but this wasn't some brave stand against the sanctioning bodies.
