    The way you criticize Hopkins while simultaneously acting as the the site's official shill for Jones is simply mind-biggling. I mean this with all due respect, Loudon. You clearly know a lot about boxing, and I can't think of a single evidence where you aren't always extremely well mannered and polite in your presentation.

    But I can help thinking the 2 things are completely related to each other.

    You're a bigger fan of both GGG and Kovalev than I am. I'm being 100% honest that I think Kovalev wouldn't have a hard time finding GGG with his power shots, so I think it would end in a handful of rounds, tops.

    But how do you see it going?

    Apologies if you discussed such after this post, as I haven't read the whole thread yet.

    If that was his main goal, he'd have never give Cotto and then Canelo blessings for bypassing his mandatory status. He'd have forced the WBC's hand.

    What I really find strange is many people on here are actively rooting for Canelo NOT to fight GGG and for Ward NOT to fight Kovalev. These are two big fights and we have so called boxing fans that don't want either fight to happen.

    When GG has retired, I'll be very surprised if he's accomplished as much as what Bernard has. But that's not the point. The point is, Bernard is now talking nonsense. Because the circumstances were completely different. He's now telling GG to do something that he'd never have done himself in GG's current position.

    That's what I have an issue with.

    Who the heck is rooting for ward to not fight kovalev?

    Ggg fans afraid ward will make ggg look like a pansy who doesn't dare to be great?

    Cause that's the only angle I could see where anyone would root against that hapoening

    I haven't heard anyone, aside from some Ward haters, suggest anything of the sort.

    Ward-Kovalev is a true clash of P4P elites.

    Golovkin-Canelo is, to me at least, a mismatch of the highest order.

    I'm befuddled that someone would even dare say that people are rooting against the fight tho....I've heard no such thing

    I could see where some people are afraid ward might win so they'd rather not see that because it will hurt their pride....but I mean....really?

    I respect your opinion, but this has nothing to do with Roy. I merely mentioned him to emphasise my point. Which was that Bernard didn't go out of his way and jump up two weight classes to fight elite fighters when he was in GG's current position.

    I respect Bernard. He's a legend of the sport. But I say it how it is.

    It made sense for him to do that.

    In that time frame:

    He's obtained the IBF belt.

    He's been paid.

    He's gotten a mandatory out of the way.

    Well, the fact I've seen you go to great lengths to defend Roy in every situation imaginable leads me to believe otherwise.

    But he did do it at some point while taking out the top dog who completely destroyed the RJJ myth of invincibility.

    But you're right. He didn't do that when he was in GGG's position, but he also didn't have the same blessing as a spotlight feature in the HBO line-up so Golovkin deservedly will be the target of more criticisms as such.

    Beyond that, he's just acting as a promoter now. Nothing more, nothing less. Many a boxer-turned-promoter has changed their tunes with changing roles to put food on the table.
