Joe has at least six wins in the bag that were tougher competition than the current version of Bernard.
Winky is a defense firt fighter..even the old washed up version. If Taylor boxes safe and smart he will out point Pavs..Im sure of that...JT knows Pavs has power..he felt it..he will show him alot of respect.
I had Pav up as well, hitting harder doesnt win rounds. . . but "landing" the harder shots sure as hell does.
U want a link to the Hopkins-Winky fight? I disagree. Taylor always leavs his left hand low and against a puncher like Pavlik he is scewed because of it.
So Hopkins struggled and laboured to outpoint, in your words, a "old washed up version" of Winky Wright, and you think that stands him in good stead to beat a much faster, bigger, stronger, dominant and active champion like Calzaghe? Please find a way to answer this.
I got the Winky-Hopkins fight on right now on dailymotion.com. You think JT will make that same mistake again after gtfo...I dont think so...Lets not forget that Pavs was on ***** street 5 minutes into the fight. Pavs defense is not good all..hes there to be hit...JT just has to capitalize on his openings.
Taylor was on more than qweer street he was KTFO. He will make the same mistakes as he always did. He always got told to keep his hands up and he never ever did.
This is a good fight for Hopkins, everyone is expecting him to get dominated. Only positives in this fight for Hopkins.
True, I never understood why he wouldnt listen though. Manny almost always gave him good advice. . . like "stay off the ropes" in the Winky match.
and in the Ouma fight......This time around I think Taylor will do alot better and even get the stoppage...especially since he wont be drained at 166 pounds.
Some fighter's just don't gel with trainers and as much as they would like cannot implement the strategies their trainers feed them. I think this was the case here.
Ozell Nelson has been a father figure in JT's life since he was a kid...he will definetly LISTEN to him.
