This guy has to be encouraging athletes who are in the late 20's who once would be told it's to late to start boxing possibly choose a shot at a boxing career. If this guy is doing this at 46 maybe there are some great future fighters who are 25+ or even 30 + that can enter the sport.

The more fighters the better the quality as it will be harder to rise to the top like in the old days.

People forget the average lifespan is much longer so 25 is not much different than 19 in the 50's and 60's.

When will boxing ppl start to account for the difference in lifespan to always assume an older guy has no shot. We are witnessing this before our eyes.

it is not PED's it is science. People living longer and the cutoff for an athlete needs to be reassessed.

Manny hitting his peak at 30. Hopkins at 37. RJJ having the same glass jaw at 40.(had to add that in)

I hope not entering the sport late is not smart, only few survive that and become great. 98% become bums and journeyman who get destroyed and you will never hear about them.

Hopkins also made SportsCenter all night Saturday night. During a critical weekend for the NFL and basketball in full swing, he got boxing some airtime on ESPN for something other than getting arrested.
