I think the way Hagler could box then turn on the heat with the combinations and aggression gives Hopkins an even harder time as he would have to adapt to two different styles fairly regularly and there not styles that he would necessarily be comfortable with.

Essentially this fight to me boils down to ring generalship. And I think Monzon was the better ring general in the simplest terms as he was superb at controlling the tempo and range of the bout, probably more so than Hopkins. That varied jab of Monzon is a big factor but I also think the timing in the right hand is a massive factor as Monzon could forgo the jab as a trap to get Hopkins to react to it then Carlos could launch a right hand in. And just things like that would keep Hopkins guessing IMO.

Hopkins was listed 5'10 earlier in his career. I wonder how tall that makes de la Hoya.

CARLOS WOULD BEAT MARVIN JUST AS HE DID BEAT BRISCOE.
BUT MARVIN WOULD WIN 1/3 FIGHTS

Hagler is my favourite of the 3 but I'd probably rate Monzon ahead of him.
    Hopkins some way behind them.

Monzon probably both deserve to be rated in the top 10 all-time.
Hopkins might get in the top 20.

I think people forget how many great middleweights there have been

It's a shame the division is gash now :-(

I'd have Hagler as the #1 ahead of Monzon.
