He was beaten hands down in his prime by the only guy he ever fought close to Hagler`s level tho (RJJ), his MW opponents played a big part in his 20 defenses & I would think twice about Hopkins beating never mind stopping Leonard or Hearns, they might have been natural WWs but they are a league above DLH & Tito so enough of that ****.

Hopkins is a good fighter but he`s a bit overrated, Hagler beats him IMO.

Hopkins usually has the edge in taking away an opponents best weapon, the problem is here is that Hagler does that better than any other middleweight in history. What Hagler would do is make Hopkins fight his fight , it would be competitive but Hagler would be a clear winner.

Also if Hopkins tried his best move - straight right hand , followed by the head then hold . He would be in for a very painful night.

    True.

The only MW I would pick over Hagler on a best night vs best night basis is you (SRR), the version that stopped Lamotta.... Hopkns is not good enough IMO.

I agree mostly on your points but I think that Hagler takes fair decision. I don't see Hopkins as active as Hagler in this fight and Hagler's work rate makes more impression on the judges. B-Hop would have difficulty to land clean. Hagler also would miss a lot, but like I said - his pressure gives him 12 r UD.

The version who fought Mugabi and Hearns isnt a prime Hagler. 1979 - 82 Hagler would demolish Prime Hopkins..

No, hopkins close decision hagler, I think Hagler is the better middleweight then hopkins but I give b-hop the edge in a close fight.

Neither guy is going to 'demolish' the other, I'd be willing to bet my life on that. It's a fight that would be a close decision, I'm just not sure in whose favour.

Close fight. A real pickem fight. If Hagler manages to impose his workrate he wins. If Bhop controls the pace he wins. I see it going to points.

Hagler via SD for me, could easily be Hopkins though. Only a very high workrate would win it for Hagler something I think he is very capable of, but Prime Hopkins is such a beast it would be a very close fight.

whoever says "Hagler demolishes Hopkins" or "Hopkins dominates Hagler" dont know nothing about the two fighters

If they fought a 100 times, every fight would be close. But im edging it to Hopkins because Nard knows how to perfectly control the pace of a fight and diminish his opponents key weapons
