What does "better" mean? Floyd doesn't have the better wins. I just broke down exactly why BHop has the better wins, thus being more accomplished, thus being greater. All you did was write in a big sized font and after like 8 posts still have not formulated an argument beyond using the word "better". If you're going to disagree put forth an argument, not an empty, unjustified conclusion.

I could see it. Historically it's more meaningful; Cloud was a natural Light-Heavyweight belt-holder like you said with formidable physicality. But I think I'd give the edge to the DLH win, because I think the fight would have looked much different had that same DLH fought against BHop last Saturday night. DLH is a smarter fighter who was fighting past the size difference against BHop with resolve and intelligence, and his own physicality.

 

I'd agree with this. The top 15 is extremely ratified air and Hopkins amazing achievements from the age of 36 shouldn't cloud the fact that there were a lot if mediocre opponents in there.

Great fighter though, the likes of whom we might not see again.

 

DLH, Trinidad and Pavlik where all smaller men while pascal isnt a great boxer himself. Mayweather was the smaller guy in most of his fights and if ppl accuse Mayweather of cherrypicking then HOpkins is worse. like somebody said Hopkins picks guys with stamina issues that wont make him fight a high pace boxing match. HOpkins is nowhere near top 20 ATG not even close

 

Mayweather was never the underdog because there was never anyone good enough for him to be the underdog. and youre talking about a former 130 lber fighting a career 168 lber? that sounds like a fair fight huh

 

His longevity is quite impressive but Cloud is a B level fighter. Still Bhop is 48 so deserves a A grade for his win.

 

Depends how much you factor in longevety.

Plenty of other fighters had more destructive primes than bernard.

But Hopkins longevety should be taken into account.

Also you have to respect how many tough fights he takes. He has probably won more fights as an underdog than nearly anyone else in history.

 

of course there is. There's always fighters out there you can be an underdog with. Even Floyd.

Providing you don't fight at Heavyweight, you can always find fights that the bookies won't favour you on.

Some fighters search for the tough challenges because that's what motivates them

Better wins vs smaller fighter and at catchweights? FOH....it took Bhop 12 years to leave one of the most lackluster divisions in boxing at the time while Floyd was jumping weight classes and moving up the P4P list defeating bigger fighters.

Floyd > Manny > Bhop > Roy in terms of overall rankings IMO.

Floyd is number one bc he was dominate from when he laced up the gloves all the way to present day. Also he has fought them all from young to old, his size to people bigger.

Manny - His ability to beat fighters bigger than him. His road to success has been a steady incline with a few losses here and there.

Bhop - Late bloomer and hit prime in his 30s but his longevity in an advance age is his most impressive feat.

Roy - Like Floyd came out dominant from the day he laced up the gloves. However, he took a nose dive in his 30s.
