Both Particularly the second though. I think Hopkins matches up well to Froch and not as well to Kessler. I think Hopkins would make more money from a Froch fight in England and he'd like to work up the Calzaghe dimension of it. It can't be because of resume though. I really think Froch and Kessler are even in terms of their career and damn even in terms of current form. No matter who wins the rematch, that person will become just as good of a win for whoever wants to (try to) beat them immediately afterward.
So Froch is a bigger draw than Kessler? I allways thought Kessler could get a bigger draw in Denmark than Froch in England.. But maybe in USA froch would be a bigger draw..
A couple of reasons. Hopkins is better known in the UK than in Denmark because of the Calzaghe fight. Given that Cleverly is a target for Hopkins, it makes sense to want to build on that British exposure with a fight against Froch. Froch is also a bigger draw in the US than Kessler. Ideally, Hopkins' fights after his mandatory defence would involve Bute (if he somehow manages to beat Pascal) in Montreal, Cleverly in the UK and Froch in the UK.
Well said. I personally think the Hopkins of the Pascal and even the Cloud fight, would school Froch. But, and I know it's said all the time , we honestly can't forget how old Hopkins is. By the time this is made he'll be, what, 50 years old? Froch, if he ups his workrate, will beat him.
Froch vs. Hopkins would be ****ing fascinating, especially right now. Would Hopkins stand him on his head or could Froch break through and overpower him? It's doubtful but there's easier fighters to control and slow down than Froch.
Bigger fan base. Hopkins can fight Froch in the states and he'll bring 10k with him! Or he could go to Nottigham and fill a soccer gound.
