Hopkins: I'll turn Bute into a Canadian Kelly Pavlik

    "170 pounds. I've done it with Kelly Pavlik and Winky Wright. The lowest I can go is 170 and that makes it a win-win for Bute because after he loses he still has his belt, just like Kelly Pavlik. If he takes care of business against Edison Miranda, which he should, I'll help him get a legend on his record and based on how I win that fight, he'll help me create a Canadian Kelly Pavlik. It's a no-brainer, Bute and his people have to want a real challenge though, they can't keep fighting the Andrade's and Miranda's of the world, so hopefully they want to step it up."

    Bute is Romanian, he won't find Calzaghe in England and New South Wales has nothing to do with the UK, but other than that, I guess Hopkins' geographic knowledge is like any other American's.

    Bute lives in Canada. He's a Canadian now. Maskaev refers to himself as an American.

    He is not Canadian :patsch. He is a Romanian living in Canada. There is a big difference. How you can't differentiate between the two boggles mind.

    He's a Romanian training, fighting, and therefore living in Canada. Don't even try to argue, it's useless. Israel Vazquez is not an American just because he lives in LA. He's Mexican.

    Bute fights nowhere like Pavlik....

    That being said, it would be a very boring fight (mainly because of Bertard).

    You think Maskaev was born in the United States? I know where the hell Bute is from, but he lives in Canada right now. Why you people don't get this concept is beyond me. Lloyd Honeyghan was born in Jamaica but he's considered a Brit. I'm not sure whether or not Bute is a Canadian citizen, but if he is than it's very apporpriate to refer to him as Canadian.
