1)Hopkins initially agreed, expecting Joe to be a Euro champ that would give him a belt in a new division for an easy night's work. After he saw something a bit more dangerous than that, he doubled his purse demands and that's what wound up axing the fight.

2)During the time period the Calzaghe fight was being negotiated and was going to happen, he had fought Carl Daniels and was in the middle of a year long layoff, and then fought Morrade Hakkar. I don't care what planet you're from- those guys didn't give him more money or status than the Calzaghe fight would've, they were simply a better risk/reward scenrio.

Smartest move that Snaggletoothed has been has ever made in his entire career was punking out of the Toney Fight. Toney would have brought him back memories of his first night in the Big House, when he was forced to wash socks in the sink.

Adamek doesn't need this fight anyway. Hopkins can make him look bad just like Pavlik and fighting him for peanuts would just be stupid. There are better things out there for Adamek.

Hopkins priced himself out for a reason. He wants no repeats of the Joe C embarrassment. I hope RJJ takes the fight and beats Adamek and tells Snaggletooth Hopkins 60-40 I BEAT YO ASS

Not troo Woo. Hops signed to meet Toney at 190. But Toneys promoter, after Hops signed, tried to cut his purse in half. This in effect, killed the fihgt. Hops was ready and willing to meet Toney at 190. It seems that Toney might be the one who had the change of heart and had his promoter nix it by purse cutting.

Toney would beat the **** out of Hopkins at 185, 190, or HW, in the Ring, the bar or the street. If Hopkins wants his Lights turned out, hey, 2 words BRING IT!:happy

Either stay off the drugs, or stop drinking and posting.

Hopkins would be a boring fight for Adamek anyways. So who cares. His best bet is to try and show he is still the top man at 175, and fight someone like Dawson. Other than that, his best bet would be to face Jones again, if anything for shits and giggles.

You're a moron anyways, nobody takes anything you post seriously other than a few idiots like Jeff M.

You're the one on drugs. :good

Don't be mad just because Adamek has a bigger fanbase and can draw more numbers and ticket sales than old man Hopkins. Its a fact dude. You're dumb if you think Hopkins will be the one pulling the numbers hah

I am a big fan of both, and I agree with you. Adamek is the more exciting fighter, and his fanbase is a pretty loyal bunch (and I expect it's still growing).

Hopkins, alone, has never been a huge draw.

None of this says anything about who would win or who is better, but I'm with andyZOR on this.

Sounds to me like this fight might still happen. This could merely be a play for leverage for future negotiations. I guess we just have to see how things play out.

    :D

And its true too. See NALLEGE even a Hopkins fan agrees. So get off the Meth or whatever your taking :tong

Fact is tho, Hopkins doesn't have a crowd pleasing style.... I mean I like him cause of his boxing skills but hes just overlooked as "boring" to the casual fan, which is one of the reasons why he don't draw as good.

Adamek is always in a exciting fight...people like that **** and it brings in more fans. Look at Pavlik for example.

Adamek is a household name in Polish people across America. I live in New Jersey not far from Newark and I swear Adamek is on the Polish news sports section every ****in day. The people kinda have grown into him now. Adamek posters on the streets everywhere, its just madness. He could easy sell out in Chicago, NY, etc...and a lot of other places. Adamek is pretty much the new Golota. I think he is maybe even bigger now.

If you watched the Dawson fight, look at the crowd, about 80% of them are wearing Polish colors... Kissimee, or even Florida in general, isn't really known for having a Polish community.
