Personally dude, I have little respect for either of them.

Ali tried to make Frazier look like some sort of race traitor, when all he wanted to do was sing Soul music in Georgia. How dare Joe have white friends, and lord above be respected for being himself.

Tyson is and was just a ****** thug who couldnt handle having absolutely no pressure on him at all. Poor Mike, raised in poverty and so on. Complete justification for sexual attacks aint it.

I loathe them both to differing degrees.

To you're first point, I must disagree a tad. The remark was made to **** Joe off and given the overall responses from Enzo and the British media. It was successful in doing so. I'm sure Joe could care less how Hop's carries on after, but its added some fuel to the preparation fire.

I look at the whole context and see it as Hop's being Hop's and saying/doing things to stoke the fire. If the man was truly a racist? I'd like to believe we'd have seen evidence before.

IMO? This is a fight between 2 great fighters and THE BEST MAN WILL WIN, regardless of color:good

    And I respect that...completely.

Its the ones who attempt to take some moral highground against Bernard, yet ignore people who did much, MUCH worse from a racial standpoint.

Every single time this comes up I ask...and the only answers I get are from people who have a universal outlook on it like yourself (which I can totally respect), or have no problem with it (which I also have no problem with it).

Again, its the hypocrytical ones I ask...yet they all conveiniently ignore the post....

    And again, I wonder why???

    :good

There are many topics where you're not going to change someone's mind. However, that doesn't mean the topic shouldn't be discussed. Alot of racial tension exists because people don't understand eachother. They act on raw emotion and don't attempt to empathize with others. These type of discussions are beneficial.

Then don't post in this thread.

Probably the most intelligent thing you have said in a while.

Hopkins has a massive lack of understanding, too.

Hopkins may have a lack of understanding. However, the backlash has been caused by white peoples' general lack of understanding of the black American male. When Hopkins said what he said, I didn't even think twice about it at first.

The reason being is because, where I'm from, black people make similar types of comments all the time. The people I hear saying these things, I know well enough to know that they're not racist. Comments like these come from a certain mentality that may be hard to understand if you're not black. It's not a racist mentality, but a mentality developed from the nature of American society. On that same note, there are many comments and ideologies that I hear from white people that, at on time, I would've deemed to be racist. However, after more interaction with them, I better understood the context behind what they were saying or believing.

what would be the reaction if Calzaghe said:

"I ain't ever gonna lose to a black boy."

he would have been beaten to death by the Boxing media.

    Yes, he would have.

Would that have made it right?

In high school, this white girl asked me to her prom. I asked her if she told her her parents that she wanted to take me and she said no. I told her that she should talk to her parents. Sure enough, she came back the next day and told me she couldn't take me to her prom.

Now, a few years earlier, I would've instantly labeled her parents as being racist. However, by that time, I knew better. Now they very well could've been racist, but not neccessarily. I understood that interracial dating was still taboo in this country. I also knew that she probably had friends and family memebers(probably older ones) who would have a problem with it. There's a good chance that her parents, not wanting her be shunned or ridiculed by friends and other family members, told her she couldn't take me to her prom. It could've been their way of protecting their daughter. Was it wrong for them to do this? Possibly. Was it racist? Well, that all depends on the context behind their ruling.

What was funny about stating truth,?/ which is what I did
there was a response of being too " Sensitive " as you put it, and wanting Relentless banned for his avatar......so again, where do you see humor in telling the truth, which is what I did.

If they were judging you on your color...then it's racist...and it seems they did:-(
